ARTERI 11 features fine artist and fashion designer Kyriaki Costa,
with her latest collection ‘Sweet Rock’, we also introduce recent
paintings by Israeli artist Nitsan David Hammerman, and
profile Lefkosia based designer Yianna Christoforou.
We are excited to be presenting the results of a project by Belfast architecture
graduate Claire Aiken whose senior thesis brought her to
Cyprus last year with the brief of designing an independent academy of art
for Cyprus. Nic Costa reveals all about ‘Idiosynchronism’,
the growing radical movement that he recently founded; Elena Stylianou
looks at the artist’s fascination in the abject - from Hans Bellmer to Mona
Hatoum and Cindy Sherman; and Eve Gogdell interviews artist
and author Henry L. Jones.
Finally we visit two important contemporary exhibitions on this autumn at
PCCA & Rouan Gallery; and publish the last in our series of translated
short stories, initiated by Maria Ioannou’s ‘Writers Chain Project’,
this time with contributions from Alaa’Abu Karaki & Aliaa
Abdel Aziz Dawoud and Luciana Grosu.
