Issue 7 'social behaviour + human condition'
What drives us to behave ‘rationally’ or ‘irrationally’, to express or conceal our emotions, to ascertain judgement? What drives a whole race to evolve into an un-natural state of being, incompatible with its very own environment, and to the point of self-obliteration? Individual desires and interpretation determine our motivations but upbringing and social conditioning/ expectations -generating intense contradictory emotions- govern our actions and how these are perceived by others. The contemporary jumble of mixed messages and priorities is overwhelming our natural born instincts with a confused compulsion to disguise, evade and displace ourselves...
Issue 7 draws a diverse group of artists concerned with social behaviour and consequence, the will to destruct in order to reconstruct, inexplicable and absurd situations created out of desperate or ‘misdirected’ drive, manipulating negative or past experience to induce new energy, faith in conviction, trusting intuition, “traversing the fantasy”...
