The artist Rémy Rivoire presents the program AROUND which attempts, through a series of residencies and exhibitions in many Mediterranean cities (Algiers, Cairo, Beirut, Istanbul, Athens, Lubjiana, Lefkosia), to conduct a dialogue on local, cultural and political concerns. The scenery, history, geopolitical aspects of each city and the politics that characterize the movement of the artist. The artist participated in the workshop of artistic Noise Crossings Group Noise of Coinsidence in 2004 and returned to Cyprus to study the "phenomenon" of the island borders, the Green Line and the area of Famagusta (Varosha). The work of
the artists Eleni Skoula and Mary Katharine Christodoulou with the
title "sound and / or picture'' will also be presented. The
work deals with the decoupling of sound from image. It will be a
process of constructing two projection screens shaped like brackets
and will take place as a live performance that will coexist for
a week with the work of the artist Remy Rivoire at Stoa Aeschylou. |
