Artefacts from a Middle Bronze Age Necropolis in Kalavasos (1900 - 1600 B.C.). The type of ware is called 'Red Polished' ware.
The pottery, and Kalavasos itself, is quite important as it has created a whole typology for ceramic production in the Middle Bronze Age period.
Called the Bronze Age because Cypriots discovered the island's rich source of copper during this time and are beginning to extract it and
trade it for imported goods with other peoples like Phoenicians on the Levantine coast.
